Hi there, thank you for your question and apologies for the late reply. It is difficult to answer your question as different perennials will be happy in different size pots with different growing media. As a rule of thumb I would say choose the largest pot size you can and use a slow release natural fertiliser e.g. 'Seafeed' seaweed and poultry manure. Also, don't underestimate how much water a mature plant uses and to think about an irrigation system from the outset. I hope this helps.
