Hi there, thank you for your question. The thermowood is the better option for a damp climate as it has been heat treated which changes the composition of the wood and reduces the chance of rot. We would also recommend a years treatment of a natural wood oil (e.g. linseed oil or Danish oil) which will further protect the timber. With this treatment and full exposure to the elements, we would expect a lifespan of at least 8-10 years. The wood burning stove used is internal rather than external feed.
