Baccara automatic water timer
Is this timer frost proof? Can it be left in place during the winter. I lost two controllers due to frost damage, having neglected to remove and store dry.

Hi there, thank you for your question. This timer is frost proof in normal conditions but the valve unit may be damaged by prolonged temperatures below freezing. I have been using one of these timers for many years now in my polytunnel and have never had an issue with it, I don't drain the system in winter. If you live in an area with hard winters, this may not be the case and I would advise draining. Unlike most domestic timers, the Baccara unit timer and valve are separate parts and not interconnected so it is very rare to have freezing or leaking issues.
