Lettuce 'French Mixed Salad'
Hi
i want to order some of your lovely lettuce seeds but have read somewhere that certain types of lettuce are better suited to summer in polytunnel and winter.. Can you advise on a few different types for May-September and then September-May in polytunnel, please? Thanks.

Hi there, thank you for your question. All the lettuce varieties that we stock will be suitable for summer growing in the tunnel provided they are kept well ventilated and irrigated. I would also suggest that you grow some heads outside as our climate is well suited to lettuce growing. For winter growing, I would go for little gem or loose leaf varieties e.g., catalogna cerbiatta'. I would also look at cold hardy salad crops for winter e.g. corn salad, claytonia or any of the Oriental salads.
