Gro Grid Planting Mat 'A' for Kale, Spinach, Strawberries
Weed Control
I realise water can penetrate the membrane but for crops like strawberries how do I fertilise after the first year?
Also for long term use such as under a hedge what will it look like after say 5 years? Do I need to somehow remove it eventually or will it decompose at all?
If not is there a decomposing alternative?

Hi there, thank you for your question. We would recommend adding manure or compost to the bed before placing the membrane over the bed. For year 2, I would remove the mat and re-fertilize the soil in the winter when the strawberries are dormant and have died back. If you need to feed when the mat is in place you can use a liquid plant feed. I am afraid we don't have compostable alternative, this product is UV stabilised and will remain servicable for 5 year and over. I hope this answers your question.
