Hi there, thank you for your question. It depends on the quality of the soil in your greenhouse or tunnel in the first place. This mix is more intended for growers using raised beds which would be filled to a minimum of 9 inches. If you have decent soil and are looking for compost to spread over cardboard I would recommend spreading at a depth of no less than 3 inches. I hope this helps.
