Hi there. Thank you for your question. Our topsoil comes from sites which have been cleared for building but were formerly agricultural land. We do not take soil from commercial sites that may contain contaminants. Our soil mixes are blends of ingredients including topsoil, compost, manure pellets and sand, we only use horticultural sand, never beach sand. It is very rare that foreign objects are found in our soil mixes but it does happen from time to time as bulk municipal compost (which we mix with soil) can contain small bits of plastic which have escaped the screens, I am afraid this is unavoidable and the same for any soil supplier. As an example however, I have recently filled beds with 5 x cubic metres (5 bulk bags) of our soil mix and only found 2 x small remnants of plastic.
