Hi there, thank you for your question. The Opinel ladies knife is so called because it is a little smaller than the standard size if one has smaller hands. The 'ladies knife' is the name chosen by Opinel, I guess just 'small' would be a better description as anyone can have small hands regardless of their gender, I am a man and have small hands so can speak from experience.
