Hi there, thank you for your question and apologies for the late reply. The mesh size on our fruit cage netting is 20mm x 20mm so will be too small for small birds to gain access.
What is the size if the mesh holes for the fruit cage netting? Netting Pack For 5.4m x 5.4m Fruit Cage Fruit Cages
I already use 2”/50mm mesh and have seen smaller birds, robins etc go through it.
