Do the beans keep?
Dwarf French bean 'Opera'
Giving that they are a heavy cropper, do the beans last for a long time or do they have to be eaten soon after picking? If so is the picking window long?

Hi there, thank you for your question. French beans have a long harvesting season provided you keep picking them, a plant will produce vigourously for 6 weeks but will keep producing lower volumes of beans for another 4 weeks or so if well fed and watered. As regards storage, French beans are best eaten fresh so regular harvesting (and eating!) is best. If you have too many beans, they can be frozen to store.
