Yes, the micromesh will protect against carrot root fly provided the surface the kit is going on is level and there are no gaps around the base of the mini polytunnel structure. The optimum size for plastic on a 4x4 tunnel is 3m x 3.6m to give you plenty of plastic to wrap the ends and edges.
