Hi there
The consistency of the soil mix can vary depending on how much moisture was in the topsoil when it is being screened. While we prefer that we didn't have unmixed balls of soil in the mix, it does happen from time to time. The balls can be broken up and mixed with the rest of the soil/compost to achieve an even consistency. I am sorry that this happened in your case and any extra work involved in mixing the soil.
